Advisory Groups

Advisory Groups

CBS sits on a number of advisory groups in order to represent our members. These include:

CPOC Advisory Group

The CPOC Advisory Group are a multiprofessional, multi-speciality group to help clarify, direct and achieve the strategic aims of CPOC.

The aims of the group are to support and facilitate the establishment, maintenance and improvement of guidelines, standards and policies for perioperative care. The advisory group are CPOC's first point of contact for consultation and support on any CPOC guidelines or publications.

National Clinical Audit of Perioperative Care (NCAPC)

The NCAPC aims to drive improvements in surgical pathways by reducing unwarranted deviations from evidence-based practice, thereby lowering complication rates and enhancing patients’ health-related quality of life. Its objectives are to:

  • Improve the quality of perioperative care
  • Reduce variation in practice
  • Identify and address health inequalities
  • Promote best practice across health services in England and Jersey

Key to the delivery of this audit is cross specialty engagement and it is vital that we engage surgeons across the UK at a local level from its launch.
