Surgical Advisory Service
The Surgical Advisory Service has been established by CBS to assist and advise all members of the surgical team who, for whatever reason, find themselves in difficulty. SAS together with CBS are able to legitimately advise on medico-legal matters and all issues relating to terms and conditions of employment, by virtue of their registered trade union status. This advice comes from experienced consultants, backed up by legal and other experts in relevant fields.
You do not need to be a member to avail yourself of this service in the first instance, but you will need to become a CBS member for continuing ongoing support and advice.
For more information view the Surgical Advisory Service document here.

CBS and the SAS advisory line is available to all CBS members to offer independent and totally confidential support in all matters arising from your work (complaints or processes).
We are independent of your indemnity provider and are here to help you, but we will work with your indemnity provider where appropriate. No concern is too small, so if there is anything you would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact the CBS advisory line to speak to Emily Borhan who will discuss the matter with you and offer advice and help address your concerns. For more complex situations Emily will assist you to gather the relevant evidence and pass the details to the CBS Executive Council for further consideration to help navigate towards the best solution.
CBS is committed to providing the most effective course of action to support and address your concerns.
