Why joining CBS can support you?
To receive full representation, individual surgical professionals are required to join CBS. It is important to note that CBS, as a trade union, performs distinct functions from those of the SAS.
CBS can support you:
Representation: CBS can speak on behalf of their members and represent their interests in negotiations with employers.
Advice and Guidance: CBS offers its members information, advice, and guidance regarding work-related problems.
By joining CBS we can be there for you.

Introducing Emily Borhan, SAS Manager.

Emily is a law graduate with extensive experience in medical law, negligence, and professional liability, and has supported surgeons in the indemnity field since qualifying in 2010.
Her service to CBS members is rooted in years of working with surgical schemes, an in-depth understanding of the needs of surgeons, and the collaboration required with external agencies in defending them in disciplinary and negligence cases. Having worked closely with Dr. Gerard Panting, she has gained a deep understanding of negotiating with NHS trusts.
